In a significant step reflecting the International Dates Council’s commitment to advancing the date palm and dates sector and addressing the challenges facing its development, the Council announced that the Kingdom of Bahrain has agreed to host the headquarters of the International Dates Observatory under an agreement concluded between the two parties.

The Kingdom of Bahrain welcomed the initiative, recognizing it as a valuable addition to international efforts aimed at strengthening food security and supporting specialized agricultural development programs.

The International Dates Observatory is a strategic initiative dedicated to the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data and information related to the date palm and dates sector. The observatory is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing transparency, supporting international trade requirements, and providing reliable statistical and knowledge-based references for policymakers, member states, and stakeholders across the sector.
