As part of the International Dates Council’s ongoing efforts to expand its international outreach and strengthen cooperation within the global dates sector, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the International Dates Council and the New Valley Governorate of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The agreement aims to develop the date palm sector and enhance the quality of dates production and marketing to improve competitiveness in international markets. This initiative reflects the strategic importance of New Valley Governorate, which is recognized as one of Egypt’s leading regions in date palm cultivation and dates production.

The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Mohamed El-Zamlout, Governor of New Valley, who expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s membership in the International Dates Council, emphasizing that such cooperation contributes to the exchange of expertise among date-producing countries, the establishment of partnerships in complementary and processing industries, and the opening of new export markets for Egyptian dates, in line with the vision of Egypt’s political leadership.

The Governor also conveyed his sincere appreciation to the International Dates Council and expressed pride in the longstanding and close ties between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, highlighting the distinguished historical relationship that unites the leadership and peoples of both brotherly nations.
