As part of efforts to expand international partnerships and in line with the strategic objectives of the International Dates Council (IDC), HRH Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Executive Director of the International Dates Council, met with H.E. Mr. Ahmed Farooq, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at the Embassy of Pakistan in Riyadh.
During the meeting, discussions focused on the completion of the procedures for the Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s accession to the International Dates Council, as well as exploring areas of mutual cooperation that would support the development of the dates sector and strengthen international partnerships.
The meeting reflects the Council’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with date-producing countries, promoting the exchange of expertise, and coordinating efforts aimed at developing the dates sector and ensuring its long-term sustainability.
The significance of the meeting is underscored by Pakistan’s position as one of the world’s leading date-producing countries, with annual production ranging between 500,000 and 600,000 metric tons, making it an important stakeholder in the global dates industry.
