The dates sector witnessed a significant event with the opening of the Al Madinah Al Munawwarah Dates Season, held at the Al Madinah Central Dates Market from 20 July to 2 August 2026.

The International Dates Council participated in the season’s activities, recognizing the event as an important economic and developmental platform that contributes to enhancing the added value of Saudi dates, increasing their competitiveness, and supporting investment and innovation in the palm and dates sector.

Through its exhibition booth, the Council showcased its efforts in building international partnerships and highlighted its role as a reference organization for the dates sector. It also presented its initiatives aimed at fostering innovation and promoting knowledge exchange, thereby contributing to the development of the sector and strengthening its presence at both regional and international levels.

On the sidelines of the event, the Council organized a workshop on 28 July 2026 entitled “Ajwa Dates of Al Madinah Al Munawwarah: From Historical Heritage to Global Positioning.” The workshop explored the added value of Ajwa dates, their unique characteristics and nutritional benefits, innovations in the development of Ajwa-based products, and smart marketing approaches that can strengthen their presence in international markets and enhance their economic value.

This participation reflects the Council’s ongoing efforts to reinforce its international leadership role in the dates sector through the implementation of initiatives and programs aimed at expanding global demand, increasing added value, disseminating reliable knowledge and data, and strengthening partnerships with relevant institutions and organizations. These efforts support the sustainability of the sector and further consolidates its position on the international stage.
