HRH Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Executive Director of the International Dates Council, continues her efforts to attract new international partners and organizations to the Council. In this context, HRH met with Mr. Emrullah İşler, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, at the Turkish Embassy in Riyadh.

During the meeting, discussions focused on the objectives of the International Dates Council and its role in supporting and developing the global Dates sector. The significance of the meeting lies in its potential to open new export opportunities for the dates industry, particularly given Türkiye’s position as one of the world’s leading Dates -importing countries.

Türkiye imported 67,093 tons of dates, with a total value of USD 133.7 million during 2025, highlighting the importance of strengthening cooperation and exploring new trade prospects between dates -producing countries and the Turkish market.

The Turkish Ambassador expressed his interest in learning more about the International Dates Council, its programs, and the mechanisms for joining the organization. He also conveyed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to HRH Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz for the visit and the fruitful discussions.

This meeting reflects the International Dates Council’s responsibility as a global reference body for the development and organization of the dates sector. As an inclusive framework bringing together date-producing, exporting, and importing countries, the Council seeks to harmonize international frameworks and standards for the sector, while building a reliable system for knowledge and data sharing. These efforts contribute to increasing the economic value of dates, strengthening their presence in international markets, and supporting the long-term sustainability of the sector.
