The significance of this meeting stems from Algeria\u2019s prominent position as one of the world\u2019s leading date-producing countries. According to the latest classification of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Algeria ranks as the third-largest producer of dates globally, with an annual production of approximately 1.3 million metric tons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Algeria is home to more than 20 million date palms and boasts over 1,000 varieties of dates, highlighting its strategic importance within the global dates sector.
