Omani Ministry of Agricultural Wealth and the International Dates Council Discuss Areas of Cooperation

HRH Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Executive Director of the International Dates Council, met with H.E. Dr. Saud bin Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources of the Sultanate of Oman.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed areas of cooperation with the International Dates Council, stemming from the strategic importance of the dates sector and its role in enhancing food security and economic development.
Princess Sarah bint Bandar affirmed that the Sultanate of Oman represents an advanced model in developing the dates sector and expanding its horizons. She noted that the International Dates Council believes its member states are partners in creating impact through the development of frameworks, the building of knowledge, and the enhancement of value addition. She also expressed her appreciation for Oman’s continuous efforts to advance the dates sector and strengthen its regional and international standing, emphasizing her aspiration to continue joint cooperation with the Ministry in a manner that enhances the presence of Omani dates in international forums and global markets.
For his part, H.E. Dr. Saud bin Hamoud Al Habsi underscored the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the International Dates Council and benefiting from the Council’s expertise in supporting the development of this vital sector, in a way that achieves shared objectives and promotes economic sustainability.
