As part of the International Dates Council’s (IDC) efforts to build new partnerships that support the dates trade and expand opportunities for international knowledge exchange, HRH Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Executive Director of the International Dates Council, received the Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan at the Council’s headquarters in Riyadh.
The meeting reviewed the Council’s activities and objectives in supporting the global dates sector and discussed the mechanism for Azerbaijan’s accession to the Council’s membership. Azerbaijan is considered one of the important importing markets for dates, relying on imports from several countries to meet domestic demand, which highlights the significance of its potential membership in the Council and the role such membership could play in facilitating commercial partnerships.
Both parties emphasized the importance of this cooperation in strengthening collaboration among member states and promoting the exchange of expertise in the dates sector. The discussions took place within the framework of the Council’s efforts to expand its membership base by welcoming more producing and importing countries, thereby advancing its mission of unifying international efforts to develop this vital sector.
